These are the first words that came to my mind when we came upon this charming lady by the stream in the village of Goshal. There she was cleaning her basket of beans by the stream. The smile of contentment on her face is what struck me. She happily posed for us and smiled every now and then, busy cleaning those beans in the basket. We tried conversing with her but language was a barrier. Nonetheless, her smile and aura were worth spending a few minutes with her.
It got me thinking, life is simple, we tend to complicate it in ways that come right back and smack us on the face. Ever noticed how people who are the happiest are often the ones with little worldly possession or materialistic things. I think that’s the life we should aim for, less materialistic and more experiences. This is one of the things I love about travel. It exposes us to new and different perspectives to life and how we see the world. It changes us in some way or the other and all I can hope for is that it always be for the better.
