The Chilled out Vibe – There’s a certain vibe that every place has and it is very conspicuous as it emanates from just about everything about that place. Old Manali is all about the slow and easy life. It’s a place you escape to, to take a break from the fast city life, from the 9-5 rat race and all the trouble it brings with it. Old Manali is this small Himalayan village of zen. It’s the perfect idyllic mountain getaway to unwind and get your digital detox.
The Scenic Beauty – The views around Old Manali are spectacular. Everywhere you look, you see nature at its pristine best – the snow capped mountains, the lush green forests, the river. It’s a picture perfect place to visit.
The Weather – I absolutely loved the weather there. We visited Old Manali during the first week of May. The temperature was somewhere in the range of 6-20 (degrees centigrade) which was just perfect. It’s just the kind of weather that makes you want to be outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. When was the last time you got some natural vitamin D ?
If cold weather is your preference then its best to visit around November-February to enjoy the cold and snowfall. March-June is the summer season here with nice temperate climate.
Nature Trails/Hike – There are plenty of options around the place which offer some amazing views and it is undoubtedly one of the things you should do. There are hikes based on time taken and difficulty. We had hiked to Jogni Waterfalls, which took us about 4-5 hours, which I think is one of the comfortable hikes. The hike offers some amazing scenic views. There are plenty of other options. Make sure to ask around.
